Following the announcement of an electoral pact by the Liberal Democrats, Greens and Plaid Cymru today, with confirmation of the 60–70 seats in which they have agreed to strategically stand aside for one another, Labour have welcomed the recognition by local Liberal Democrats and Greens that Chichester is an unwinnable seat for them both.

Labour came second in Chichester in the 2017 General Election with the Lib Dems a distant third with half the support that was received by Labour and with the Greens on 3%.

Labour candidate, Jay Morton, said at the campaign launch in Chichester today that, “Only a vote for Labour in Chichester can send this Tory government the strongest possible message that enough is enough.’
