There may be only two Labour councillors on Chichester District Council but they have certainly been making their presence felt.

Labour brought a motion to the District Council that attempted to get the council building its own much-needed truly affordable housing. The council has now set up a group to look into options for making this a reality.

Labour Councillor Kevin Hughes will chair the group. He said: ‘This is a great opportunity for the council to look into alternative solutions to the affordability crisis that affects Chichester. There is still a long way to go, but at least we can now look at all the options with support from council officers and other councillors.’

Labour may not be in power here in Chichester but our presence is changing the conversations taking place on the council.
